This Morgan County Farmhouse was given new life when our client contacted us in 2015 to begin dreaming up the revitalization of the weekend home of his youth.
This project included a complete, detailed renovation of the family house, outdoor areas and pool house. A focus on gathering, entertaining and ease of transition between indoor and outdoor environments was paramount. Central to the home is an expansive room that gained expanded function through the creation of specific zones: a dining room to seat 16, a cocktail area, formal entrance, fireplace seating area and a den area for watching TV (which remains hidden behind a custom mirrored rolling door). To create a more symbiotic relationship between this gathering room and the outdoor space, windows and doors were added on each side of the fireplace that open up to the screen porch overlooking the pool.
Refurbished furniture, family heirloom pieces and an extensive collection of curated, modern art brought this project to life. The accessories in the home, a mix of collected family items and Dixon Rye accessories served in reinforcing the connection between the familiar and unexpected.
"The Dixon Rye team is a pleasure to work with. They are schedule oriented and delivered a wonderful design to our farmhouse that incorporated family antiques with contemporary aesthetic. We couldn't be happier!"
