This wooden chair with a beautifully seasoned patina was made in Africa, circa 1960. It features an indented seat and resembles African birthing chairs, frequently carved with decorative or animal motifs. Here, carved patterns of concentric lozenges adorn the backrest and base. With its striking geometric silhouette formed by two intersecting panels, the chair makes a definite conversation piece.
