OCTOBER 2020

Bradley’s 10 Essentials for Fall

Morning temperatures have dipped into the 40s in Atlanta, and the chill in the air feels like official permission to indulge in all things Fall.

The increase in time spent at home this year has given me more time to discover new products via the rabbit hole of various social media platforms. And, albeit a bit different than discovering new wares at markets and through travel, I’m still excited to share my must-haves for Fall. What are yours?

1. Cascara Tea from BRASH

Anne actually turned me on to this afternoon delight. Also known as coffee cherry tea, it’s the perfect marriage between coffee and tea, and contains less caffeine than a regular coffee.

2. A Trip to Scottsdale Farms Pumpkin Patch

Perfect for a socially distant date, or an inspired setting to select your Fall pumpkins and gourds.

3. Four Thieves Hand Sanitizer

An age-old remedy reimagined for modern life (and a constant 2020 companion), I love the notes of cinnamon, allspice, clove, and eucalyptus.

4. Joji, Nectar

Joji’s soulful-sounding voice has become the current soundtrack to my life as I’ve had this album on repeat for weeks! I highly recommend a listen for when you need some moments of escape. #addtoDRplaylist

Camel Hair Plaids (aka “throws” here in the U.S.)

Hand-spun and woven by hand in Mongolian camel hair, we’ve already started taking pre-orders for these throws, set to arrive in the shop in January.

Sunday supper takeout from Little Bear

A few weeks ago, my friend Alix ordered a little bit of everything (including wine), and we indulged. Don’t forget to support newly opened restaurants in addition to your regulars.

Pimento Cheese from Sweet Grass Dairy in Thomasville, GA

A few Saturdays ago, Anne and I enjoyed the Georgia On My Mind box, sneaking in bites of cheese in between clients. We’ve since gifted this to several friends of the shop as we believe everyone needs this pimento cheese in their life.

8. Insight Timer Meditation App

Forcing myself to slow down each morning and evening with 10-20 minutes of meditation has been a saving grace, and has better prepared me for navigating the unexpected (i.e., seemingly every day of 2020).

9.

Smoke-Fired Vases from Dixon Rye

A shop favorite, these beautifully crafted artisanal vases are fired with smoke in the traditional African way. These should be arriving in the shop in a week or two, and I’ve already built several into the plan for a design project at Serenbe.

Shaggy Dog Sweater

If you know me well, you know that I love a good sweater, and proudly wear them year-round. I’ve coveted this one from J.Press for years, and finally bit the bullet (as shown above in green and navy striped version).
